Slinky Redesign

So I made this guy a while ago, but I was never actually happy with how he looked. I thought he might look better if he was slightly more realistic... here's what he looked like before: neomi-trix.deviantart.com/art/… Anyway, what do you guys think?

I'm thinking he's like some sort of shadow guy who can materialize partly or fully. (He seems like a guy that would appear and take you on a spooky yet whimsical journey through time and space... or something. That's just because he reminds me of Itward from Fran Bow mixed with Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka.)
